We are
importers and distributors of quality French
wines from Champagne, the Loire, Beaujolais, the Rhône Valley and the South-West
and are based in Newcastle upon Tyne. Hence the name. Our
aim is to
import from small independent producers (Vignerons
Independants) rather than from large organisations or negociants and also,
where possible, to use young and innovative
growers.
Most of the wines that we currently offer are exclusive to us.
We can supply to individuals,
businesses and the trade. We can provide wines and hire
glasses for corporate events, parties and weddings and we can provide wines
for gifts. We welcome
enquiries from restaurants, hotels and retail outlets and can
also work with caterers to complement their service.
If you have a
favourite wine that you can't find then please ask us. We will try
to get it for you and we may also consider adding it to our list.

Trained as a nurse and with a background in equine and business
studies, Katharine developed her interest in wines during the frequent
family holidays in France.
|
A former IT
consultant, with a background in education, Irwin started taking a
serious interest in wine over 20 years ago. He is always on the
lookout for new and exciting wines to add to our list. On several
occasions in the early 1990s, Irwin competed in the
Beaujolais Rally.

Our apologies to Great-Great-Grandfather George Tomlinson 1838 - 1913 .
He probably would not have approved.......At an early age he became impressed with the devastating consequences of the liquor traffic and was convinced that the only way to free people from dependence on and the effect of drink was the total suppression of the trade. For the remainder of his life he devoted himself, as a full-time member and officer of the UK Temperance Alliance, to the cause of Prohibition in the North of England and parts of the Midlands! |
